Montana State University has just posted a Mycology faculty position (Montana State University Employment Opportunities | Assistant Professor of Mycology).   We are casting a wide net for this position, which includes those specializing in forest pathology.   The primary goal is hiring someone capable of teaching mycology courses at MSU that will also have an dynamic research program.  Forests are an important part of the Montana landscape and neither MSU or U of M have a forest pathologist at this time...

Faculty Research Assistant, Swiss Needle Cast Cooperative, Oregon State University

Faculty Research Assistant to work with the Swiss Needle Cast Cooperative (SNCC), based in Corvallis, Oregon.  The SNCC is focused on research, monitoring, and management of Swiss needle cast, an important Douglas-fir foliage disease caused by Nothphaeocryptopus gaeumannii (Mycosphaerellaceae). 

The Faculty Research Assistant will assist the Director of the Coop to:

  • Manage installation and maintenance of a permanent plot system in the Oregon Coast Range
  • Manage installation and maintenance of temporary monitoring plots in the Cascade Mts.
  • Assist with Administration of SNCC, including Outreach
  • Assist with Management and Implementation of SNCC Science Program

  • Data Analysis and Writing, and Science Publications

  • Collaborate with Coop Members, Forest Industry, Agencies and other Scientists to develop new research ideas.
