Please join us for the 75th annual North Central Forest Pest Workshop hosted by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The North Central Forest Pest Workshop (NCFPW) is an annual gathering of persons interested in forest health issues facing the north central portion of North America. This region encompasses Manitoba and Ontario, Canada; and Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin, USA. The NCFPW attracts plant pathologists, forest entomologists, foresters, researchers, students, and more.

NCFPW 2026 meeting format will include a field tour, state and provincial forest health reports, and research presentations.

    • The workshop will be held at Graystone Event Center, connected to the Holiday Inn Express in Ludington, MI
  • Hotel Information:
    • Holiday Inn Express – 4079 W. US-10; Ludington, MI 49431
    • A block of rooms for September 14-16 is held until August 15, 2026. After that date the hotel will honor the rate as long as rooms remain available. Room rate is $110 plus 11% taxes. Call the hotel at (231) 845-7311 and ask for the room block for the North Central Forest Pest Workshop.
  • Registration:
    • In-person attendance
      • In-person registration options include full registration ($300 USD); students and retirees ($150 USD); and a single day rate ($120 USD Tuesday and Wednesday, $60 USD Thursday). Registration for in-person attendance closes on August 31. Note that registration does not include hotel reservations.
    • Virtual attendance
      • Virtual attendance is $150 USD. Registration for virtual attendance closes on September 11.

Student Travel Award

The application period for graduate student travel assistance awards is now closed.

Email notifications will be sent out to award recipients in the first week of August. Applicants must check their emails regularly and respond by 10 August 2026. If an applicant does not respond by that date, their award will be given to the next highest ranked student.
